  • Donna Gordon: MY GENERATION

Humorous and nostalgic, Lermond strikes the bell of time and baby boomers respond in force. A generation both simple in their habits and complicated in their ideals, the baby boomers followed WWII in great numbers. And survived their own wars.

  • Donna Gordon: The Actress - One Act Play

I love surprises and this doesn't disappoint. What a great setting, the Staten Island Ferry. And great for a noir: might have fog and waves lapping wildly. The dialogue is just as enjoyable and, in a few words, pits the humble against the proud. A couple of messages hide in this play.

  • Donna Gordon: THE ANGEL OF DEATH RISES EARLY

The writing here is brilliant. As a noir, it has the eerie, other-worldly crime scene, and wonderful Poe quotes echo through the play. I can imagine these scenes, with dashes of autumnal leaves, on any stage, but especially one that has a place for a good, honest thriller. As a fan of psychology, I especially like the identification complex the leading detective Isabelle develops. The references to dreams also work to beautifully connect the two Isabelle's together. Though one is dead.

  • Donna Gordon: THE POWER OF TWO (formerly known as ONE OF THE FEW)

Lin has done a thorough investigation of the times and the people involved in the Nazi occupation of Poland. She includes translations of Polish and Yiddish words used in the play. More importantly, this story show a heroic resistance to prejudice, based on religion or culture. The suspense of a precarious existence in the face of encroaching violence permeates throughout. Slides are available to project the images of a deteriorating city that were commonplace to its citizens. An unusual perspective that will engage, inform and hopefully commemorate those who resisted and will resist...

  • Donna Gordon: CHOICES

I love the realistic dialogue, straightforward and understandable. The plot is simple but develops in a complex, interesting way. That's a perfect recipe for a mystery. Hopefully audiences will enjoy more of the suspense.

  • Donna Gordon: IN HIS SIGHTS

A play about a miracle is so refreshing. This tale is simply told but so profound in its message. It is a short play but has an interesting development. I would like to see this story told firsthand, and to an audience.

  • Donna Gordon: Anaconda in the Mangrove Trees

With typical Baughfman humor, the author tells a tale of marital disaster. He weaves a tale of obsession and the audience is left to figure out who's to blame - the unhinged wife or the husband who has allowed it. But far from a study of matrimony, this is an absurd take on the perils of domesticity. Baughfman draws you into this strange world with a deft hand.

  • Donna Gordon: On Air

I admire Kirazian's weaving of several plot lines into a fascinating look at the times of the Vietnam War. The main character is able to move through the complexity of his life with great energy. His Armenian inheritance creates some interesting conflicts which put situations which we all face in bas relief. I love the literary concerns and references which are well integrated into the play's development. I would recommend this for any audience.

  • Donna Gordon: Red Write Hand

Talk about creating suspense - this one keeps you guessing longer than most. The somewhat comic situation with doom hanging like the pendulum over the pit, is typical of Baughfman. This isn't tragic, it's true of the mind of the mentally ill, though some might think that's a tragic diagnoses. Baughfman stays away from self pity and chooses, rather, a satirical look at some concerns that most of us have.

  • Donna Gordon: Forgotten Bread

This docudrama needs to be produced because it's a crime against humanity to forget this genocide. As Americans in this century we may have heard of this tragedy in passing, and that's why Sevan has written this piece. He uses poetry, songs and a gripping dialogue to blend the past with the present. Sevan creates a thoroughly engaging memorial to these people, one which becomes, through this captivating writing, also a story of present injustice. Sevan would make an indelible impression on any audience.
