Rory Leahy was born in Evanston IL and has been making things up and acting them out since very shortly afterward. He has written, directed, produced and performed in many plays including for his own company, American Demigods in Chicago. His short works have been published in The Best American Short Plays 2012-2013 from Applause Theater And Books and The Best Ten Minute Plays 2013 from Smith And Krauss. He has ventured into screenwriting, co-writing David Holcombe's film Yellow AKA City of Lust from Soft Cage Films. He earned his MFA in Playwriting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2017. Also in that year, his play Vampire Pirates Of The North Sea, Being An Account Of The Confrontation Between A Small Band Of English And Irish Adventurers And An Army Of The Undead In The Year Of Our Lord 1605 was read at the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis MN, and his other play, Response Scenario, was performed by Exit Stage Left in Columbus OH. His short plays have been performed in many cities, including Chicago, IL, St Louis MO, Orlando, FL, Toronto, Canada and New York City.
