"Why did it have to be you?" That's the line that sticks with me. We want something to be done, but we don't want to be the one responsible for doing it. A smart, heartfelt short play that wrestles with that difficult idea.

At turns funny and unsettling, this is a play that the audience will be arguing about in the lobby. A gripping read.

  • David L. Williams: Green Sound

A lovely piece of writing that offers thoughtful characters expressing their truth. The play begins with the note, "The characters are completely sincere," and that sincerity shines through.

A lovely piece of playwriting. At turns funny and heartbreaking, with a great sense of character.

  • David L. Williams: Heist!

Quick, smart, and funny. Would be a blast to produce for student actors and directors!

  • David L. Williams: Timeshare

Compelling and witty piece that shows us we might not just be over our past quite as fast as we want to be.

  • David L. Williams: Abstracted

A smart piece with a vivid lead character with a strong undercurrent of sadness throughout it. Compelling work.

  • David L. Williams: Closing Doors

A gripping and intense piece that reveals new layers of the characters on every page. A terrific use of the pressure and focus that a ten-minute play can bring.

  • David L. Williams: THE RIPPLE EFFECT, award-winning 10-minute comedy for two actors

Read this for a playwriting contest and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a sweet piece about fertility, one that's clever and moves well.

  • David L. Williams: Neat.

A play that is constantly moving forward while showing how a difficult relationship can pull us back to the path. I appreciate how the playwright is able to take the trappings of a romantic comedy (a comedy of "remarriage") and put them up to the light, examining the the often-unseen toxic elements of those tropes. The playwright has a poetic naturalism to her dialogue, and is able with brief, seemingly tossed-aside comments, to give depths of insight into her characters.
