Evan Baughfman

Evan Baughfman is a middle school teacher who has had various written works
published and/or performed. Many of his plays have been produced across the United
States. A resident of Southern California, Evan is a playwriting member of PlayGround-L.A.,
and is also a company member with Force of Nature Productions. His children's play,
“R.O.M.3.O. and Julia” (Romeo and Juliet...
Evan Baughfman is a middle school teacher who has had various written works

"Percy Pangolin Wants to Go Viral," is published by Heuer Publishing. Heuer's also published Evan's plays,
"A Taste of Amontillado" (an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado")
and "Untragically Ever After". Next Stage Press has published Evan's "Fear Pressure" and
"The Dodo Challenge".

Additionally, Evan writes horror fiction. D&T recently published Evan's first full-length novel,
BAD FOR YOUR TEETH. D&T has also published Evan's novella, VANISHING OF THE 7TH GRADE.
Evan has also penned a collection of 13 short scary stories titled THE EMACIATED MAN AND
OTHER TERRIFYING TALES FROM POE MIDDLE SCHOOL that is published through Thurston
Howl Publications. From that collection, opening story "Loud Mouths" has been dramatized
as a radio play by Chicago's Small Fish Radio Theatre and Thespinarium as part
of their 2016 horror podcast, “The Creatures Inside”. His horror stories can be found at:

Furthermore, Evan has adapted a number of his Terrifying Tales into short film
screenplays, of which "The Emaciated Man" won Best Overall Short Script at the 2017
International Horror Hotel Film Festival. Also, "The Emaciated Man" placed as a Finalist
in 13Horror.com's Film and Screenplay Contest 2017 and was a Top 10 Finalist in Eat
Crow Films' 2017 Horror Scriptwriting Competition. In addition, “The Tell-Tale Art”
and "A Perfect Circle" were both Finalists in the Short Horror category for the Shriekfest L.A. Horror Film
Festival.

    Jack locks himself in his bedroom on Christmas Day, refusing to speak with his dad or his older brother, Johnny. This does not stop Johnny from leaving a gift at Jack’s door. However, Jack does not unwrap the gift until the day after Christmas.
    Inside the gift box is a “magic” candy cane. When Jack licks the candy cane three times as instructed, a ghost appears, ready to “resurrect” three of Jack’s gifts from happier Christmas pasts. This is the Ghost of Christmas Presents, after all... (Not to be confused with the Ghost of Christmas Present. The Christmas Carol, this isn’t.)
