Lizz Mangan (They/Them) is a playwright and dramaturg who focuses on queering theater in both subject and structure. Their work plays with stream-of-consciousness dialogue, non-linear storylines, queer time theory, and how life is kind of funny in it's craziness! Until, you know...it's not.
As a playwright, Lizz's work has been seen across the country in Connecticut, Minneapolis, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Colorado. Lizz is a member of the 2024 First Kiss Theatre Residency program, and is the recipient of a Tennessee Williams Scholar for the 2024 Sewanee Writers' Conference.
They have also had the honor of working in the offices of The Vineyard Theater, The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, The Playwright's Realm, Clubbed Thumb, Hartford Stage and TheaterWorks Hartford as a script...

Lizz is particularly passionate about supporting young theatermakers as they begin to share their work with audiences. Lizz has acted as a playwriting mentor and dramaturg at the Young Playwright's festival at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, and as a reader and director for the Worldwide Plays Festival at Writopia Lab.
Lizz is an alumna of the University of Connecticut where they received their B.A. in Theatre Studies with a concentration in Playwriting and Dramaturgy, as well as the National Theatre Institute's Spring 2018 Advanced Playwriting Semester. They are also a founding member of Eleven & One Theater Collective.
