  • Donald Loftus: No Right Time, a virtual play in 10 minutes

I experienced this play when it was presented as part of The Taphouse Theatre’s virtual on-line play festival. It is beautifully written, powerful and honest... and actually made me cry. To create such characters and a plot that can touch an audience in just ten minutes is a true art and Jackie Martin is one of its masters.

  • Donald Loftus: The COVIDs of March

Greg Lam assembled 8 playwrights from around the country to write this play in one afternoon. The process was fascinating to experience as the next scene was started before the ones before it were finished. Miraculously, it all came together and was performed in the same day by a troupe of equally impressive actors.

  • Donald Loftus: Phillie's Trilogy

It is clear to see why "Phillie's Trilogy" by Doug DeVita has been so highly praised. As a guy who grew up in the 70’s the play rings true with well-developed characters and sharp dialogue that brings back memories and delivers a satisfying and engaging theatrical experience.

  • Donald Loftus: TABLE MANNERS IN HELL'S KITCHEN

Tight and sharp dialogue and colorful characters create a story about human relationships that hits home. Exactly right for today’s world.

  • Donald Loftus: Lost Sock Laundry

A moving story with very developed and interesting characters dealing with very real prejudices, problems and concerns. Very compelling, very timely.

  • Donald Loftus: Flight

A fascinating study of the human experience. Full of twists and surprises. The kind of play you’ll think about for a long time after the final blackout.

  • Donald Loftus: GIRL BEFORE A MIRROR

Beautifully written. Totally absorbing. A wonderful look at the emotions of the moment versus the
immortality created by a painting that will be viewed for centuries. It is a charming, sweet and innocent piece.

  • Donald Loftus: AFTER THE DISSOLUTION

A sad, truthful look at a marriage long past its prime. Martha Patterson creates a tough situation and does not wimp out with a “happy ending”. In fact, by allowing the events to run their course, the lead characters will probably, in fact, be happier after the curtain falls then they would have been with a temporary resolution.

  • Donald Loftus: TREADMILL

Fun , fast and completely believe-able. The characters are interesting and recognizable, the dialog is sharp and witty and the scene is one we can easily imagine. A comic workout set in a gym. Great fun.

  • Donald Loftus: LIGHT MY FIRE

Carol Wendy Berman takes us on a magic carpet ride back to the sixties. The blast form the past not only restores powerful memories, its characters are people who take us into the story and make us care deeply about what may happen to them. At times funny..at times tragic and always fully engaging. Highly recommended.
