A Detective in late 1960s Chicago imagines himself as the hero of a noir. Tasked with infiltrating a left-wing terrorist organization who have declared themselves enemies of the state (the Socialist Trans-National Kommune), he goes undercover as a Communist freedom fighter. Once he successfully infiltrates the group, however, he discovers he's not alone. Tension escalates as he jockeys for control, resulting in a fumbled act of terrorism far worse than what the group originally planned. STNK is a dark satire about police incompetence and the absurd nature of authority in America.
