A great look at the hidden history of E.M. Forster and what it meant to live as a gay man in the first half of the 20th century.

When I saw the Humana production, I was struck by how timely and timeless the story was. And just how much damn fun it could be. It asks big questions about race and identity and how you both create and are bound by your own culture, while keeping the focus on the intimate story of these three teens. And it does all this to the infectious rhythm of early hip-hop and freestyle rap. Two years later, I brought my college class to see the Forum Theatre production & they fell in love with it just as hard as I did.

At its heart, a great examination of the vulnerability and self-imposed isolation that can develop after physical & emotional trauma. But wrapped in a funny/sad family drama. I really want to see this show produced.
