This play is absolutely hilarious! I teach an Intro to Drama class, and I have them read plays in this class: They love this play a lot. Thank you for the great play and hyping up my students that plays can be and are hysterical as this one. :)

This play is like a young adventurer version of Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke. It's got all the beautiful world-building you could ever ask for, stellar jokes, and epic heroines. It's a whole other world, and I really wished I had a script like this when I was in middle school! Plus, if you are looking for a large cast this script has a vast range of different characters to play as. Also to have a female protagonist with ADHD is super cool to see, and something I have longed to see in young adult plays for a while now.

Joyland pokes fun at the utterly ridiculous nature of interviewing for a certain famous mouse and I love it for that exact reason. The way technology is used in this piece by making the android the main conflict makes for great comedy. Whoever gets a hold of this script will have a blast in acting, designing, and directing.

I am always recommending this play to others all the time! It is phenomenal! I always think we need more college theatre like this because it feels so REAL and RAW for young actors to get a hold of. It's full of subtext and wit and sharpness. And it's something so relatable to so many in the theatre world while talking about how much politics are involved in this process. It's theatre like this that puts me on the edge of my seat reading! Brillant stuff!
