Katy Koop is a writer and theatre artist based in Cary, NC. Her most recent projects include stage managing "Men on Boats" with Justice Theatre Project and working with Raleigh, NC's Women's Theatre Festival as production manager. In addition, she has written theatre criticism for Triangle Arts and Entertainment, Indy Week, and Howlround. As a freelance writer, she has had essays published in Electric Literature, Femsplain, Feministing, and Aloe. Her play The Amazing Cunt and Lil'Bitch take [Your City]! has been produced in part and in whole in New York City, NY, Minneapolis, MN, and Raleigh, NC. As her day job, works as a community manager for a Seattle-based social marketing firm and freelances primarily as a marketing copywriter. She runs Plucky Media, a pop culture criticism website, on the side with co-founder Sarah Koop, who is her sister and frequent artistic collaborator.

    A re-imagining of Antonin Artaud's "Spurt of Blood" complete with disembodied hands, buildings falling from the sky, giant scorpions, and a giant wheel turning in the air. It's a surreal work that likely involves puppets, projection, and circus arts.

    A dark comedy following the vigilante team “The Amazing Cunt and Lil’Bitch” as they take down rapists in an ambiguous locale. Deals with the idea of vigilante justice and the line between right and wrong.
  • Dick and Jane: Let's Go to Court!
    Led by the Bailiff as narrator, the process of the Rape trial parodying the Dick and Jane children's books.
  • Magnum Opus
    A potential patient, Hope, meets plastic surgeon, Dr. Barton, on a trial visit, leading to a discussion on the meaning of beauty and art.
