Ross Tedford Kendall is a graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and USC’s Master of Professional Writing Program. His full-length play, Still Born, has received staged readings in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and has been produced by the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Ross Tedford Kendall is a graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and USC’s Master of Professional Writing Program. His full-length play, Still Born, has received staged readings in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and has been produced by the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. His full-length plays, Whirlpool and Pleasure and Pain, both won honorable mention in the Ohio State Newark New Play Contest. Whirlpool was also a finalist for the Woodward/Newman Drama Award. His short play, Singular of Dice, won the Drury University One Act Festival, 2011, the 4th Annual Frostburg State University One Act Competition, and has been produced in Rhode Island, Missouri, Connecticut, Maryland and Scotland. When not writing, Ross works at Cal State Northridge’s University Library, helping professors and students with course specific academic materials.

  • Whirlpool
    FULL-LENGTH Whirlpool is the story of Clementine, a young S&M enthusiast, who comes home one night to find her roommate, Rebecca, claiming to have been raped by NFL superstar, Jason Carter. The play follows two detectives in the initial interview with Carter, as well as the fallout Clementine and Rebecca endure after reporting the famous athlete. Whirlpool explores not only the subject of rape, but of the elusive nature of truth.

    FULL-LENGTH Still Born is inspired by events that took place at the University of Southern California, as well as many other similar incidents. It is the story of Karen Colby, a young attorney assigned to defend Jennifer, a young college student accused of murdering her newborn. Karen’s boss hopes winning the case will improve the firm’s image, but Karen finds herself pitted against a tough prosecutor....

    FULL-LENGTH Jeremy Holt enlists the services of a young dominatrix to deliver the sexual satisfaction he needs. When his wife Sheila returns unexpectedly, a firestorm erupts. However, when the dominatrix refuses to leave without her gear, the situation escalates and spirals out of control, with the line between sexual pleasure and tormenting pain being repeatedly crossed.

    ONE-ACT Singular of Dice features Garrett, a young reporter, trying to get the story of a lifetime from Noelle, a mysterious woman with a deadly job. Noelle turns the tables on him, trapping him in a sadistic game for her own amusement. Garrett treads a fine line between getting Noelle to open up while trying desperately to avoid “disappearing.”
  • Sisyphus and Prometheus
    ONE-ACT Charlotte, desperate for money, offers to tutor three overprivileged underachievers. But their apathy to their studies may test her limits.
  • Fireworks
    SHORT PLAY Cheryl just wants to watch the fireworks before leaving for a new job in another state. But her two freeloading coworkers won't leave her alone.
  • Riddles
    SHORT PLAY Two men and two women find themselves chained together in an insidious trap, where they have to answer riddles in order to work their way to freedom. However, they find that one of the riddles reveals who they are: a thief, a fraud, an adulterer, and a murderer.

    TEN-MINUTE PLAY Chelsea spends the night in a garden, scaring off coyotes. Her sister Madison came to retrieve her, but Chelsea won't leave until she catches a feral cat.

    TEN-MINUTE PLAY Thomas and Miranda clash over generations and different opinions as they try to contact a distant space probe.
  • Principles of Logic
    TEN-MINUTE PLAY A young admin assistant seeks to obtain an important library book from an overbearing and haughty professor. However, he has locked it in his file cabinet. Can she bargain her way into retrieving the book?
  • Blinded
    TEN-MINUTE PLAY Prof. Mickelson is forced to seek help from the accessibility department of his university. Though skeptical, his encounter with a student technician allows him to see what was invisible to him.

    TEN-MINUTE PLAY Vanessa just wants to study, but everyone around her keeps texting her with increasingly absurd demands.
