Claire Rice is a playwright who enjoys writing plays where like-able characters are either plotting the deaths of their co-workers or running cannibal cults or planning purity balls or convincing their lover to be a vampire. Some of Claire's characters survive, but at a terrible cost. Some of Claire's characters are punished for doing the right thing. Claire has been produced from San Francisco to New York and was once, briefly, mentioned in Wikipedia. Claire holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Performance from Eastern New Mexico University and a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. Claire is the Director of Artistic Development at Awesome Theatre and a Core Member of Thunderbird Theatre Company. She has also directed plays for DIVAFest, Custom Made Theatre, Thunderbird Theatre Company, Awesome Theatre, and more. She has also helped start a few theatre companies that don't exist any more.

    Two cannibals meet at a barbecue. If they survive the summer they might get to go on a date.

    Eddie has returned home after years in the Army. Tracy has been in love with Eddie since they were kids. Sonia is the new girl in the neighborhood. Oh, and they are all cannibals. "My Cannibal Summer" is a dark comedy about the pressures of trying to live up to other people's expectations in a eat or be eaten world.

    A youth pasture and a volunteer set up for a church event one long, dark and stormy night. A serial killer is loose somewhere in their small town. The small basement church is full of fear and pent up sexual longing. Will they make it out of the church together or will fear rule the day?
  • Choose Your Own Apocalypse
    Danielle is a journalist who digs into her own past pain for a story on a cult that is growing out of control. Millie is a high ranking member of the cult and Danielle's oldest friend. They reconnect in the woods for what Danielle thinks is an interview, but turns deadly when she finds out the cult may use her as a weapon.

    Roger Arliner Young is the first African American woman to receive a doctorate degree in zoology in the United States. She was not recognized in her time for her contributions. This play takes place at the end of her life as she begins to lose control of her ability to keep the past and the present in order. The character relives all the fear, loss, and disillusionment of a woman who’s dreams were ripped from her hands.
