  • Bella Poynton: Phone Friend

A sweet, timely piece about the power of connection. With phone conversations becoming less and less common among the youngest generation, this play offers something unique and almost period in it's stylistic lens. It's a fantastic piece for actors and offers deep emotional range. Bravo!

  • Bella Poynton: The Aleph Complex

A beautiful, unique, and well-executed play about inner demons, the love between mothers and daughters, and overcoming the devouring fear within each of us. This play touches on issues or loneliness, neurodivergency, self-isolation, and parent-child relationships. Yarchun has created three deeply lovable characters and weaves a heart-warming tale of overcoming our deepest fears. Bravo!

  • Bella Poynton: Zöe Through the Subway Dog Door

Greg Romero's voice is clear, bright, and powerful in all his work, but this play is one of my favorites. Greg is able to deftly capture the realms of fantasy, different worlds, and dreamscapes with what always seems like no effort at all. This play captures what it feels like to dream, to be deeply lonely, and to be cared for all in the same ten minutes. We go from joy, to sorrow, and back again. Never for a moment in this abstract piece do you feel ungrounded; Romero's power as a writer takes care of you! Bravo!

  • Bella Poynton: You Before Me

I adore this short play! It's heartfelt and true-to-life without being saccharine. The metaphor is weaved deftly but you don't need to know mythology to enjoy it. Moreover, this play has one of the sweetest last moments I've seen in a play in a long time.

The concept here is fantastic! Totally original. It takes a moment to get your footing, but I promise--everything works together perfectly and is so satisfying! The way Marchant weaves the stories together towards the end is masterful. This piece hooked me, and never let me go!

  • Bella Poynton: Greater Illinois

One of the best plays I've read in the past few years. Strafford weaves together a complex, engrossing, speculative tale that holds you from start to finish. I can't wait to see this play go places!

A lovely piece for actors, theatre people, and anyone else. For anyone who loves Waiting for Godot, or *hates* Waiting for Godot, this short play is for you!

  • Bella Poynton: Burst

An incredible, real-time piece. The best play I saw in 2022, honestly. Original and thought-provoking. I thought about it for weeks after.

A fantastic feminist romp. Edgy and funny. Wild and crazy, but in a way that makes you laugh and love yourself more than you did before.
