Luckily, a new stranger in town, Ray O'Hope, is there to help Amy and the orphans save the day.

The other guests at the party are Dennie's parents Evan and Nan, their elderly neighbors, the Zeldings (affectionately known as Uncle Zig and Aunt Zag), her Aunt Lorraine, and tech genius Steve Wiseman, who designed the prototype and gave it to Dennie as a birthday present. Upon activation, it becomes apparent that Cassandra is receiving commands from an uninvited guest, the ghost of Maggie Blue.
