  • gnat frye: Abeona

In a very atmospheric and rhythmic piece, Gwen builds tension slowly and carefully with repetition and a building and palpable sense of dread. Abeona portrays ever-taut character relationships, creative moments of movement, careful pacing, and growing insanity with aplomb. put me in mind of X by Alistair McDowall. Fantastic work, and something I'd love to see staged.

  • gnat frye: Moving On

As a fractured family strives to make things work, a teenage boy and his mother are both caught in the wreckage of it all. With very vibrant characters and an unmistakable voice, Moving On was a wonderful read and an excellent look at familial relationships, love, and the way trauma likes to bubble up everywhere. I related very strongly to Jake in my teenage years, and could see the realism of his thoughts and behavior in every line.

  • gnat frye: The Lion's Den

In a gripping portrait of family dysfunction, Clint's struggles with self-actualization and acceptance leads to a strongly-written unraveling of the established dynamic. With vibrant characters and honest subject matter, this family drama is real, raw, and very thoughtfully done.

  • gnat frye: My Daughter's a Demon!

My Daughter's A Demon hits its comedy beats very well, and tells a gripping and funny story about a girl on the brink of a breakdown and the circumstances that got her there. The play weaves the fantastical with the wildly entertaining; the pace is quick, the jokes land and stick, and the camp levels are off the charts. I highly recommend!

  • gnat frye: It's About Time

As someone who has been ‘the other child’, It’s About Time was a fresh and cathartic look at family dysfunction and separation. Deeply funny and evocative of the likes of Douglas Adams, It’s About Time combines suburban malaise with fantastical futurism and hero-worship very well, and is worth a read.
