Jim’s short play, Mundo Payaso, was produced at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood and at the University of La Verne. As Associate Artistic Director of Theatre Matrix in NYC, Jim produced One-Act Festivals at Lincoln Center Library and 78th Street Theatre Lab, in addition to the Weekend Series by Theatre Matrix playwrights. As an actor, Jim has worked On and Off Broadway, and regionally, at La Mama, Public Theatre, Ridiculous Theatrical Company, Los Angeles Theatre Center, and many others. Jim has also worked extensively in theatre education with migrant youth, incarcerated men and women, and public school theatre students.

  • A Simple Explanation
    A woman with a Gucci bag is shot on Fifth Avenue near Trump Tower. The cops on the scene are dismissed from the case and hole up in a dive bar to figure out why. A viral internet story connecting President Trump to the shooting leads to a nasty break-up between one of the cops and his Puerto Rican girlfriend, and spills over into an argument about immigration with the right wing gun-slinging lesbian bartender...

They drink and grapple with the twisted logic of online hysteria, but the resentment, racism, and rage of the characters, and their inability to agree on basic facts, to speak a common language, or to share an agreed-upon logic leads to an explosive climax.
