“ Will Vence Jr's play is a compelling experimental story that I'm still processing and analyzing well after reaching the "End of Play." Vence holds a powerful understanding of mystery and left me guessing (and second-guessing) the story's end for 90+ pages. The psychic abilities angle was also fun and suspenseful in its use. Though, it's the enormous use of voice-overs that is the biggest takeaway. As I process post-reading, I'm caught between thinking the play's voice-overs are an innovative direction for theater-making and wondering what August's story would look like on film. ”
