I am an NYC based Dramatic Writer. Born in Virginia, raised in Jacksonville, FL, and spent ten years living in Chicago. Most recently I received my MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

As a storyteller, I have the impulse to tell epic stories that illuminate people and events that are subtracted from mainstream consciousness. My work orbits around queerness, queer black people, mythology, poetry, historical events/people, and most recently, Afrofuturism. At the core of all my work, the theme I return to is empathy.

When I think of character & story, I think in terms of music. This stems from me being a Southerner and having a deep admiration for the 90's R&B.

I aim to continue to tell stories on stage, and I also have the desire to work in film/tv, video games, and any and all new mediums that the future brings.

My play Kingdom is published through Steele Spring Stage Rights, and was nominated for Best New Play at the 2018 Non-Equity Jeff Awards, and is the winner of the Lorraine Hansberry Award at the 2018 Black Theatre Alliance Awards.

I also love video games and cats.
