(Full Length) In the heart of Miami, Kevin accidentally killed a butterfly. This accident sends Kevin into a downward mental spiral where he debates whether or not he should kill himself with his best friend Gwen. This leads Kevin and Gwen into an argument about life and Santeria. Kevin then compulsively eats a flan that was left as an offering to the Orisha Ochún. Soon after, Ochún sends Kevin on a quest to right the wrong he has done to the woman who made the flan: Ofelia. Kevin, in an attempt to end the argument with Gwen, enlists their help in finding out who Ofelia is. This results in Ochún reappearing to send Kevin on the quest alone while they get to know Gwen better. Kevin and Ofelia begin to make a new flan when he learns that her own son has died of suicide. Hearing this, Kevin chooses to kill himself. This sends Kevin to a purgatory state, where he meets Babalú-Ayé. Kevin is offered a chance to have peace at last and is told that he can either take the opportunity to leave life or he can go and finish his quest. Kevin, choosing life, returns to the land of the living and brings a semi-completed flan to Ochún. He and Gwen reconcile, and the play ends.
