  • Eric Mansfield: Water Damage

Daniel Prillaman takes the audience out of their comfort zone and then leaves them to process their own feelings and experiences through this deep dive into what scares us when we're alone and the energy that has scared others over time. A play that can make a lasting, personal connection with the audience is worthy both of your time and of producing. Note: Take the content warning seriously.

  • Eric Mansfield: Emily McClain is Obsessed with Groups of 3

I always enjoy news conferences in plays because of how it puts the main characters on the defensive, and Steven has done it again to force the audience to be on the ropes alongside Emily. When the protagonist meets the shocked-yet-empathetic audience, you've got storytelling gold.

  • Eric Mansfield: For Richard, for Poorer

Steven Martin crafts a nice rise and fall of confidence and uncertainty to which anyone who has been married (or even considered it) can relate. Eddie's ability to take the audience inside his head to share his hopes and fears on the biggest days in his life will keep their attention as they enjoy the ride. Richard says a lot without speaking, a credit to a playwright clearly in control of his characters' arcs. Well done.

  • Eric Mansfield: GROWTH IN ISOLATION

Monica Cross crafts a story that will leave the audience still contemplating its impact after the applause has stopped. She takes a relationship challenge -- long-distance communication -- that will feel so familiar to the audience and then turns it on its side. I love stories that make me want to talk about them after their over, and this one certainly does that.

  • Eric Mansfield: Receipts

Very funny with great comedic timing to bring the story to life. Married couples in the audience will be elbowing each other as the lines play out.

  • Good intensity as Trump doesn't "get it" in the afterlife any more than he did on earth. I think an audience would be glued to the clues waiting on the reveal at the end. I can see Trump's red tie as being very similar to what the other reveals. Good read.

  • Eric Mansfield: Love and the Fear of it All

The audience will make a quick connection and root for these characters. The plot covers a lot of ground in a short period of time while being both funny and poignant. Enjoyed it

  • Eric Mansfield: Heroes, Legends, Brothers

The pacing is intense, and you can feel that these two teens could be anyone in the audience. Lives cut short, and in facing their fate, they take the hearts of the audience. I appreciate the hard emotions of a school shooting that still maintains both the overwhelming destruction inflicted by an unseen villain while still maintaining the respect and dignity of the victims. Well done.
