All that to say...there is a moment during the climax of this sexy short when I audibly said, "Oh, no." I can only imagine how much more visceral that reaction would have been if I'd seen this silly bedroom comedy live on stage! There are opportunities for hilarious theatricality through physicality and lighting that could transform this very simple story into a memorable experience! Goofy, vulnerable, honest, fun!

Beautiful subtext, simple but effective theatricality, and just enough science to satiate make this tiny relationship story into a sweet and memorable sci-fi spectacle for stages of any size. It also contains wonderful choices and challenges for a director who is ready to engage with the intriguingly ambiguous ending. This is a relatable entry into the increasingly popular "alternate universes" genre - impressively dense for ten pages! If you're into genre theatre, you'll love this. If you aren't (yet), this little play might make you a fan!

I positively adore Adam's list plays. Moments of heightened reality meet fantasy meet Shakespeare to create a multi-voiced, bracingly honest collage of the human experience - something that probably shouldn't be possible...especially not in 40 pages. The pieces are poetic but relatable, with opportunities for dynamic casting and staging. Even the simplest production has the potential to become a profoundly moving experience. Whether you're grieving a relationship or yearning for your perfect, absurd meet-cute moment, I guarantee something in these unexpectedly complementary plays will resonate.

I've always been fascinated by athletes - maybe because I've never been one myself. This funny, affecting short provides a glimpse into the lives and uncertain futures of three Olympic hopefuls, all of whom have a lot to lose... though what they have to gain is a bit nebulous, too. How do you persist when you've built your life and future on the hopes of a teenage athletic accomplishment? How does it raise the stakes when the whole world is watching? The banter is quick, funny, and witty, and the ending makes you feel deeply for Bennett and Megan. Fantastic!

Oooh, I love the double entendre in the title here! Is this short play a run-of-the-mill possession story, or is it a metaphor for abusive relationships and the perpetuation of violence? The awesome thing about this piece is that it works on both levels. It's full of cool sound and technical design elements that any horror fan will be eager to execute. It's haunting, efficient, and will resonate with a variety of audiences!

When are you right to trust your gut? This deceptive, clever short seems to be about the power of technology and connection... but is it really about trusting your intuition and knowing when to walk away from an uncomfortable interaction? The twist will certainly leave you thinking and wondering - it's begging for a part two! Whether or not we get one, the piece is thoroughly engaging and will keep you guessing well beyond 'end of play!'

I was lucky enough to hear this fantastic play performed on Tiny Theatre - and the timing was perfect because I'll be flying this week for the first time in YEARS, and I'm feeling quite a bit like the man! It's a hilarious reflection of just how alien and heightened the rituals and routines involved in air travel tend to feel! A social humanoid would not feel out of place at all! The hilarious piece ticked all my boxes as a fan of comedy and sci-fi theatre. "My chassis, my choice" almost killed me! I'll be rooting for these two!

This play had me on page one! This ridiculous afterlife comedy relies on your willing suspension of disbelief, but once you're in, prepare for a character-driven ride full of physical comedy, farcical secrets, and existential questions. It's quick moving, has a strong character arc, and there's never a dull moment. I found it affecting and was surprised by how emotional I got as the play approached its climax! The set is simple, with a few fun challenges for keen designers. With that said, I hope it's 100% fictional - I'm not interested in an afterlife without my authentic cat!

Do you know how I know for sure this was a Daniel Prillaman play? Because my favorite character was a cat with pink eye named Shitters... among other compelling reasons!

This play is pure goofiness. Just when you think you have your bearings, some ridiculous complication comes out of leftfield and turns everything on its head. You will see yourself and your family in these characters, and you will be mad about it.

My favorite part, however, is how strange, primal, passionate love is the solution to the play's many oddball problems. It's hilarious, it's pure, it's absurd! Read it!

Love is the purest force in the world - but what happens when a well-meaning person loves us the wrong way? That's the central question in this tragic two-hander about a mother and daughter navigating life after a tragic accident. Structurally, Donnelly set up the reversal in a masterful, thoroughly devastating way, with a tiny detail coming back to land a massive emotional, relationship-ending punch. It's full of gorgeous monologues, with an engaging framing device that invites the audience into the protagonist's world. Sometimes love is just paying attention. Give yours to this lovely play.
