This silent play is a hysterical, unexpected tryst full of moments that would be so much fun for actors to create on stage. The wordless script is clear but leaves plenty of room for play and interpretation - a dream for a creative team... plus, it's just plain cute! I'd love to see what other adventures these two silent sneaks might share!

This silly comedic short drew me in immediately with its opening image - two grumpy old man unicorns agonizing over a game of Scrabble. Hilarious banter mixes seamlessly with a real message about perseverance and adaptation in this alternate version of the Genesis flood narrative! Although never explicitly stated, I love the unspoken implication that this is a Narwhal origin story! This short is hilarious and hopeful, with just the right amount of sincerity!

What a strange little fast-food-themed meditation on friendship! It brings to mind the nostalgia of being a poor student and showing up at the oasis-that-is-Taco-Bell with a handful of change and leaving with a feast - it's a weird place where nobody's ever priced out. I loved the atmospheric descriptions, like the late-night neon and parking lot shadows. A delicious short in which kindness and mindfulness win!

This is a heartbreaking short play that says so much with so little, trusting the audience to do the work to fill in the story of these two old friends. This short play is a musical, subtle, and relatable reminder to reach out to those you care about because they might not be able to. Told through naturalistic dialogue, the carefully executed reversal will hit you all at once.

A funny, theatrical take on the simplest of nursery rhymes! Norkin adds a few clever laugh-out-loud complications to mix things up! A director would have a blast staging the fall that kicks off the events. From there, I can see actors hamming it up as they get to the bottom of this comedy of errors! I'm not sure which is more fun: the physical comedy or the wordplay! This would be right at home in a short play festival.

In this explosive living room drama, we're introduced to three friends - and, at first, have no reason to question their genial relationship. Loose lips sink ships, however, and we spend the majority of this tense play watching their relationship capsize in a slow and deliberate manner. As the tipsy friend reveals her true colors, the others recognize that they deserve better, leading to darker confessions. There is some subtle but significant character development going on that is fun to track throughout the piece. A compelling exploration of toxic friendships.

So, I went looking for a weird play. Play clown games, win clown prizes, I guess! FOUND IT, friends!

This odd and wonderful trip is endlessly entertaining. I would definitely describe it as a performance text - I wish I'd been able to experience it before I read it! The only rule is "don't get comfortable." If you're like me, you're going to encounter something that's simultaneously really bizarre and painfully relatable. It will make you question everything. It will also probably make you laugh!

Furthermore... My favorite character was corn! My favorite setting was corn! Obey the corn play!

I'm amazed by how quickly the playwright managed to establish such specific character relationships in a neutral setting like the supermarket!

In the piece, we're introduced to Sam and Alex, a close-knit sibling duo, and are immediately drawn into their rituals and idiosyncrasies. I loved the use of the time jump, which allows the audience or reader to fill in the gaps - very engaging. The "white trash pie" was a delightful unifying element that tied this sweet holiday story together! The reversal was as sweet as it was unexpected and left me feeling warm and hopeful at the end!

This short is wildly theatrical, laugh-out-loud funny, and almost absurd in its effective simplicity! I can only imagine how much fun the cast and director would have staging the "bits" that transform this quirky comedy into a cohesive whole! The final reversal is a well-earned button on the end of what I'm certain is a goofy, high-energy variety show about... tragedy?! Laughter may not be the best medicine for Brown, but this play sure made my day!

This short play is a masterclass in writing a character-driven ten-minute play. The characters' actions (particularly Jason's) so clearly betray them, making it the perfect story for a theatrical medium. What seems like a comedy quickly transforms into a tense, high-stakes, and deeply tragic drama with both passion and fear at the center. At the same time, it's amazing to take stock of how far we've come from the terrifying early days of the AIDS crisis. A really lovely, dynamic piece for two versatile actors.
