The Art of Floating by

“
It's an achingly familiar tension: do we box ourselves into a life of security, or make peace with the world’s precariousness? Protagonist Mackinzie, who seeks out her spunky grandmother, Marian, to escape her strict Mormon upbringing, must learn to “float” in the space between these two poles. All of the relationships in this play are realistic and compelling. And I adore the climactic scene, a powerful water ballet...performed out of water. Levitating over it all: the ever-present metaphor of the dirigible, nudging us--like Mackinzie and Marian--to listen to our inner adventurer. ”
