THANH NGUYEN is a New York-based actor, educator & writer. Born in the Philippines to Vietnamese immigrant parents, he grew up in Whitehall, Ohio. THANH NGUYEN is a New York-based actor, educator & writer. Born in the Philippines to Vietnamese immigrant parents, he grew up in Whitehall, Ohio. After becoming the first in his family to graduate high school, Thanh earned a full scholarship to the Ohio State University & graduated with a BA in Theatre, a BS in Anthropological Sciences with minors: Spanish & Evolution/Ecology. During this time, he studied abroad in Mexico, Nicaragua & UK & learned at Stone Lab, the oldest US freshwater biological field station while performing/producing in the arts and community organizing with the Vietnamese/Pilipino/Asian American communities. Thanh has worked in various capacities at social service/education non-profits, higher education, government, cultural art institutions, hospitals, childcare/caregiving, restaurants and retail. Recently, he obtained an MA in Arts Administration at Columbia University & published research on recruiting, hiring and training theatre teaching artists of color. Primarily, he performs in social justice/devised theatre but looks forward to opportunities in television, film and media. Not at work, he likes to read, cook, travel, dance, sing, take photos & spend time with loved ones.
