Mostly a writer - Sometimes a director - Occasionally an actor... David is a multiple award-winning English Canadian who's probably best known for his adaptations "with a twist"... After winning two BBC awards for comedy writing, David was trained in stagecraft by John Sichel, who previously directed such knights of the stage and screen as Oliver, Bates, Guinness, & Richardson.

Notable recent successes include:

David's play, LEER, received both best drama, and best new work awards at the Victoria Fringe... Its script also placed as a finalist at the University Of California's Ground & Field Theatre Festival.

In 2017 David's national award-winning script of FRANKENSTEIN debuted at The Pearl Theatre, Hamilton, & then had a sold-out sophomore production in Victoria for Halloween 2018.

The summer of 2018 also saw the opening of his latest critical and box office smash "Sherlock Holmes & The Curse of Moriarty" - A penny dreadful reimagining.

After two Canadian productions, his cold war drama GOOD NIGHT UNCLE JOE was translated into Polish, subsequently receiving two staged readings productions in Poland... This play also had a further (English) staged reading in Toronto in October 2018... And pre-Covid19 was meant to have productions in the UK and Sweden.

David was a long time originator board member of PGC’s CANADIAN PLAYS IN CANADIAN COMMUNITIES 150th initiative. He has also originated & co-organised two seasons of THE JAZZ P@GE (a series of intimate evenings designed to showcase the works of lower island playwrights) - He is currently a member of Theatre Inconnu, and on the board of Langham Court Theatre.

In the spring of 2017 he wrote & performed in Vancouver a piece about his long-term disability experience with rheumatoid arthritis at CAN YOU SEE US?

David has at present several plays in various stages of development... "Wind In The Willows" will probably be his next premiere - As it is currently optioned, and in the early months of pre-prodcution - "The Shadow In The Water" has been offered mentorship at The Belfry Theatre.
