  • I saw a reading of this great new play at the Powerstories 2026 Voices of Women Festival. I loved how this play tackled the question of "who does art belong to?" with humor, nuance, heart, and urgency.

  • The Melvyn Invention is a total delight to read! Its high-concept premise is immediately clear and engaging, especially for young audiences. The three characters are funny, multi-faceted, and vulnerable. They're written distinctively, but flexible enough for countless actors to step into the roles and make them their own. What I especially like is how the play’s sci-fi magic is portable. Wherever it travels, it will resonate with a wide range of communities.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed reading this lyrical, imaginative play. I also appreciated the opportunity for artists to devise their own "audio flower." What a gift for a teacher/director and their student performers! This play provides great potential for ensemble-building in the rehearsal room plus rich themes to spark spirited post-show discussions.

  • I saw a production of this short play in Powerstories Voices of Women Festival. It's punchy, funny, and provocative. It would make a great addition to any lineup of short plays.

  • I saw a production of this play as part of Powerstories Theatre's Voices of Women Festival. It's excellent---funny, surprising, touching, and offbeat. Because of the tonal shifts and character reveals, it's a great opportunity for the two actors to show off their range.

  • Erin Lekovic: Wayfinding

I loved reading this play. I hope I get to see a production of it here in FL at some point!

This was a really beautiful play to read and I would love to see it on stage. Intelligent, thoughtful, imaginative, and compelling. Thank you for writing this, Kira!

  • Erin Lekovic: Please Stay Here (10 min)

This is a beautiful play that had me on the edge of my seat when I saw it in production a few months ago. It would resonate very well with high school and college students. Please Stay Here is effective, never preachy, and always compelling.

  • Erin Lekovic: Paperland (10 Minute Play)

This play nails the ridiculous combination of banality, competition, and terror that come with working a dead-end office job. It's funny, timeless—and in a last minute twist—upsetting. A big thumbs up for this short and robust ten-minute play.

  • Erin Lekovic: Mother Lode

I spent the duration of the reading at The Goodman laughing out loud. I spent many days following the reading thinking about the characters and the choices they made. Messina won't give you any easy answers on what it means to be a working mother, nor should it. It's a wonderful addition to our theatrical landscape.
