  • What a delightful story about an interaction between a young struggling Beatrix Potter and the over-extended vicar’s wife, Edith. Both have the heart of an artist, and both have fears they must face. A beautifully written script that would charm any audience.

  • Rueben Raiden Thunder God is an honest, engaging and moving monologue that delves deeply into the innermost thoughts of a young Latino gamer who’s waiting to see his brother who is fighting cancer. This would make a wonderful addition to a monologue festival.

  • Wow! Hilda’s Diner is a wonderfully crafted, intense, period piece, revolving around the devastating effects of war, and family dynamics. Each scene grabs your attention, leaving you wondering which characters you can actually trust.

  • Brenton Kniess crafted a wonderfully moving short piece regarding a man dealing with grief and struggling to move on. Who knew a couple of quirky puppets could be so delightfully insightful? The Peculiar Puppets of Philip Platt would be a great addition to a short play festival. Well done Brenton!

  • What happens when Sigmund Freud analyzes Gerogia O’Keefe’s, Black Iris? As you can imagine, his interpretation is wildly different from hers. What a great script. I’d love to see it take the stage.

  • Deb Meyer: Rewind

Only the prolifically witty Morey Norkin, could pull off creating a comedy/horror script in 10 minutes. These two characters are stuck in a video rental store in the 90’s. Reminiscent of the song, Hotel California, “you can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave.” Well done, Morey!

  • Deb Meyer: Divine Truth

Wow! What a story. Divine Truth delves into the inner realms of a family coping with the life issues of love, death, marriage, parenting, an intense religious doctrine, and all the emotions that spring out of them after a personal tragedy. It’s quite the story. Well done, Debra Cole!

  • Deb Meyer: When in Rome

The characters. Their names. The dialogue. What a hilarious story! Woven with abounding wit and whimsy. When in Rome is well-crafted and a delight to read.
This play would make a great addition to a short play festival.

  • Deb Meyer: BENCHMARKS (10-minutes)

Benchmarks offers up a wonderful life lesson. Two strangers sit on a bench at a bus stop. As they strike up a conversation regarding their future destination, life choices are bantered about. Will Telly sit with her baggage, or make a move?
    Well-written. Thoughtful and moving.

  • Deb Meyer: Sing in Me, Muse

Sing In Me Muse by Janine Sobeck Knighton
What a delightful script. What happens when Leonardo da Vinci can’t draw? Will he be sent home? Why can’t he focus? At his wits end, he summons a muse, who seems to have other issues on her mind. The dialogue is witty, the characters are memorable. This would be a great piece for a One Act Festival.
