New York based artist Jaxin Jackson is a black, queer, trans, non-binary, artist and educator that uses both they/them and he/him pronouns. Jackson's academic artistic training consists of: an MA in Theatre Education from Hunter College where they were awarded the Lincoln Center Scholar Fellowship, a BFA from DePaul University in Acting, and an HS diploma from The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) where they studied Creative Writing. Jackson's professional acting and comedic work spans over a decade and over the last 4 years they have been developing their voice as a visual artist and photographer. Jackson is generally passionate about everything, but feels most called to explore themes of race, class, gender, sex, sexuality and spirituality in their artwork. Most recently Jackson was seen in the Netflix series ‘Sex Explained and A Luv Tale the series, by creator Sidra Smith and their photography was published in Tayo Literary Magazines special issue ‘Soft’. Jackson is also a yoga teacher, an herbalist and has been practicing Buddhism for 13 years.
