  • Vigilantes
    Opening on a Sunday morning, friends Gail, Georgie, and Emma sit around in a dorm room. They are shaken and nervous, and discuss the previous night. We learn that they have just committed a premeditated murder on their dear friend Tina's abusive boyfriend. This play asks what it means to be complicit, what it means to be loyal, and the ethics of taking someone else's justice into your own hands.

Members of St. Margaret's Parish pick up the pieces in the wake of a traumatic experience, and as a result they must stretch the boundaries of what good Catholics are. Casual mystics, everyday martyrs, and ordinary saints define the world of Other Sacraments.

  • PURGATORY IS NOT AN ESCAPE ROOM, BUT THE BELLY OF A WHALE - A 10 minute play
    Jonah finds himself in purgatory with an envelope that contains a disturbing truth about his brother. His old friend Gemma comes by - now a Passionist nun. This play explores what brotherhood and sisterhood truly mean.

    A Catholic family's daughter is engaged to marry a woman. Being a lesbian couple, the girls are barred from being married in a church. The pious mother's solution? Break in after hours. Their perfect plan might have been thwarted when the parish priest woke up, if the father didn't have a trick up his sleeve.

    Siblings Angie Mosley and Ethan Mosley trek out into the forest in their home state of New Hampshire to bury their newly-deceased father in the old Hitchcock mining prospect. They encounter the new property owner, Christina Bonchamp, whose pretentious mannerisms are initially off-putting and suspicious. Together the three unearth their understandings of family, love, and death.

    Three young women are in the bathroom of the Hole In The Wall nightclub. One is reeling from a breakup. Graffiti in a stall is not all that meets the eye, and a heartbroken girl experiences an apparition of the Virgin Mary when she needs it most.

    Two men (and a baby) find themselves in Hell. They believe they know why they are being punished, but their assumptions are really just self-denial for their actual faults. Eventually, god cannot stand their loud blaspheming.

    Written September 2022. This is a spinoff from a bigger project of mine, Other Sacraments, which explores Catholic identity and community in relation to a culture of abuse. I wrote this for the sake of practice and I like it well enough to put out there. Other Sacraments coming soon!
