I had no knowledge of the history this hysterical short work is based on, but it’s a wonderful concept brought brilliantly to life (so to speak) by Lee R. Lawing! The visual aspect alone is worth the price of admission. Add to that Lawing’s clever dialogue, and you have a winning two hander (double header?)!

Donald E. Baker’s EVERYDAY MONSTERS is a powerful, disturbing tale of how power and privilege can be used to subject others to the most extreme conditions. Even when confronted by his victim, the abuser remains unmoved, comfortable in his superior position. Baker’s writing is authentic, intelligent, and intense. Even the ending will leave you trying to catch your breath.

A completely enjoyable romantic comedy with a nervous bride, a possibly philandering groom, a supportive maid of honor, and “a messy bitch who loves drama.” Throw in references to Shakespeare and community theater and I’m all in! The concept of an offstage “Literally Everyone Else” is unique and no doubt would add to the overall fun of this piece.

Jacquie Floyd’s charming fantasy/romantic comedy is pure delight! The back and forth between fantasy and reality and the earnestness of the fantasy version of the ex boyfriend will leave audiences in stitches. I couldn’t help noticing that GLASS SLIPPER has had numerous high school productions. Understandable with the the characters being college students and Jacquie’s keen ear for youthful dialogue. But this is a play guaranteed to bring laughter to all generations! Hopefully it will come to a high school, college, or other theater near you!

A remarkable, yet true tale of bravery and valuable reminder of the horrors of war. George Sapio has impeccably pieced together the history of Soviet Air Force’s all-female fighter pilot regiment in WWII for this one-act solo performance. A certain amount of bravery and daring will be required for any actor attempting to tackle this role, but the rewards could be immense. Given current world events, now would be a great time for someone to produce this important work.

Simply brilliant! Rob Matsushita uses a narrator recounting a dream to bring us this funny reenactment of a Japanese zombie film. The narration is pitch perfect as are the cultural subtleties of Japanese cinema. And it’s all brought together with great comic effect. This should be a welcome addition to any short play festival!

Absolutely hilarious send up of mad scientist horror films! The lighting and sound designers would have a blast with this! Not to mention the actors! I was laughing out loud throughout, even like a mad scientist!

There’s magic in the midsummer’s night sky and in Chris Plumridge’s writing. Chris has crafted a beautiful story of loss, longing, and everlasting love. Well done!

Installment 9 of the A Fragile Mind series finds a return of Jenny as her memory is accidentally turned back too far and all memory of Tammy is gone. Questions arise as to whether Jenny committed the crime that has haunted her sleep. Although this is the final installment currently available, this story is not over yet. Joe Swenson, don’t keep us waiting! This series makes for one exciting theatrical event! I can even see a blockbuster screenplay in its future!

Installment 8 of the A Fragile Mind series reveals new information about Tammy’s identity. Will two Rejuvenation Center employees protect her and put their own lives in danger?! The more we learn the more intriguing this story becomes! Joe Swenson is a master of suspense!
