This monologue definitely tugs at the heartstrings and makes you want to do everything to help the young girl. I think it is the oblivious nature of the girl to her situation that makes you want to help her before she realizes exactly what her situation is. Very well written and opens your eyes to a situation that is all too real for many young people.

I enjoyed reading this play. It encapsulates the awkwardness of a first date and does so in a creative way through their text messages. (Including saying the punctuation.) This short play pays off in the end with a touching moment that would linger in the minds of an audience.

Even though this is a short play, the two characters establish themselves as very typical of what you'd find in a middle school classroom. There is one who is trying to be a good student and one who is trying to avoid anything having to do with schoolwork. There are consequences for not doing the assigned work, though kids! In this case, dire consequences indeed. Maybe interesting things do happen in science class! This would be a really fun play for young actors to perform!

The best part of this play for me is when the "big reveal" happens and you retroactively laugh at all the pretentious silliness that occurred before. It is a creative and unique play that audiences will love watching, and actors will love performing.

I saw this show when it was produced and it was a high-energy show that keeps the audience in stitches. This play was a highlight for me in the festival, and it would be a highlight for anyone who gets an opportunity to see it performed.
