What happens when we learn to love the systems that subdue us? Is there danger in finding beauty in one’s persecution? Is it a coping mechanism? Is it a good one? These are the questions Abihu, the royal stable hand, must wrestle with after the Roman emperor mysteriously dies. A chilling voice visits him on the eve of the prince, Abihu's adoptive brother's coronation. Wielding strange powers, the specter reveals to know Abihu's true father. Abihu must risk his principles in order to survive the night and discover who he truly is. However, just as the mystery unfolds, the play reimagines itself in Act II; now no longer in a stable but in a high school counselor's office.
