  • DC Cathro: Some Guy Masturbated In The Ocean

This play is a rollercoaster in many ways. A slow build to start but once it gets going... Wow. Twists and turns, ups and downs. The subject matter is deep, and goes to some dark places, but the characters and dialogue are fast and funny. Absolutely hilarious, even though you might feel bad laughing. Thumbs up!

  • DC Cathro: Maturity

Wow. There is a LOT going on in “Girls Mature Faster Than Boys,” and not in ways you’d expect. The relationship between the twins in this play is realistically drawn, with a deep history, connection, and rivalry. The concepts, actions, and wants are definitely mature, but the characters are not, despite their statements to the contrary. Disturbing, challenging, and a tad funny, this show packs a punch.

  • DC Cathro: A Quarter Placed on Railroad Tracks

Sweet, sad, and symbolic. The power in this piece is what’s left unsaid, the history between these two that is only hinted at but hangs heavy throughout. Martin has a wonderful knack for dialogue and showing volumes of insight in just a few pages. Lovely.

  • DC Cathro: THE ARIA OF JULIE D'AUBIGNY, the cross-dressing, sword-fighting, opera singer, wherein she seduces men and women alike, wins numerous duels, must be twice pardoned by the King, and eventually finds true love.

Epically thrilling and full of all the good stuff! Excitement, music, romance, sword fights, and some seriously juicy roles for women. Absolute fun for actors, audiences, designers. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this rollercoaster of a history lesson!

  • DC Cathro: The Apothecary

Creepy, ethereal, and vivid in imagery, this haunting short piece will quickly draw you in. Fascinating characters, specifically the women, propel the mystery and dark aspects of the work. The climax is emotional and leaves much to the imagination. Perfect for a stormy night.

  • DC Cathro: The Golden Rule

Aggressive in tone and concept. Engrossing and deftly constructed, the dialogue snaps and the power struggle volleys in unexpected ways. A great read.

  • DC Cathro: Marcie and Patty Are Getting Married

As a huge Peanuts fan, I was excited to read this piece. Fast, frantic, and funny - it reads much like a classic sit-com and current rom-com hybrid with lots of physical humor and the side characters stealing their scenes. Great fun!

  • DC Cathro: Where the Air Meets the Water

An incredible theatrical experience, so imaginative and engrossing. The structure, the concept, characters, dialogue. This is a unique script that reads wonderfully and (I’m willing to bet) plays even better. This is a show that will stay with you for many reasons. Absolutely brilliant.

  • DC Cathro: Fireworks

Office politics and fireworks... Which is more explosive? Witty dialogue, relatable characters, and snappy laughs propel this piece at a brisk pace, and it’s a wonderful challenge for both lighting snd sound design. Excellent.

  • DC Cathro: Dark and Stormy

Murder(s), revenge, abuse, violence, a vengeful spirit, and some comedy carefully inserted... all in ONE PAGE. This is a great and unexpected spooky short! What Sickles does in just a few lines is astounding.
