  • This script empowers the youth in a way I've never seen before. Encouraging freedom, willpower, and being true to oneself, this is a representation of TYA at its best!

  • Philosophically rich, bitingly profound, and acts as a proper result of the past existential ideologies that have manifested an illusory and chaotic present moment. I love the humanity of this piece so much. Drenched in the philosophy of Tolstoy and Kierkegaard while being completely original, I cannot recommend this play enough.

  • I love this play! Tactfully written and genuinely hilarious. I love the progressive ideas and tactics that Meghjee brings to the table. Excited to read her other work!

  • I love this play! Michigan is unexpectedly a perfect setting for a story this stylish. The rules of the world are so rich and interesting. I had so much fun sitting with this, and would love to see it put up!

  • I read this play recently and fell in love with the humor and queer-ification of history. It's rare that reading a play allows you to learn while also enthralling you the way this play did for me!

  • Dane Futrell: WE FLY

I love this play! It fervently takes from dramatic tradition but also paves its own innovative path through social commentary and complex dialogue. I'm excited to read more from TJ, his voice is super intriguing.

  • Dane Futrell: American Girl(s)

Saw this performed at the Kennedy Center recently, where the range of emotion captured in its compact runtime made for a super impactful deconstruction of American girlhood. Uphoff wrote a hilarious piece that is also complex and often profound.

  • Dane Futrell: Welcome to the Fair

Even while exploring a notably more farcical and comedic facet of playwriting, Rushing continues to write directly from the heart and strings together warm moments that are equally funny and fulfilling. The idea of a failing renaissance fair in the middle of nowhere is a goldmine, and Cletus is my personal hero. I would love to see this produced sometime soon!

  • Dane Futrell: In this Sepulcher, We Are Fed

Had the pleasure of seeing this play performed at the Kennedy Center earlier this week, and the farcical comedic situations were so beautifully juxtaposed by the riveting social commentary. The undertones of trans visibility, capitalistic familiarity, and the escapism of freedom all resonated deeply with me. I recommend reading the whole thing, as the punctuation, dialogue, and unfurling of plot grow richer with each line.

  • Dane Futrell: Kimia Zaman and the Whispers of the Mountains

Saw this performed at the Kennedy Center, and was struck by the ritualistic, culturally rich elements paired with poignant social commentary that truly make this script one of a kind! I'm always a fan of when mythic fairy tales are turned upside down and analyzed from a unique perspective!
