  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: 10,000 Years

Time and communication are warped in this lovely, lyrical, image-driven short play. It manages to find an interesting balance between the very real, heart-felt relationship of this couple and the almost unreal, nuclear winter in which they find themselves trapped. Highly recommended.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Welcome To The Gun Show

Cleverly disguised as the monologue of an overeager gun shop salesman just trying to make a deal, this dark tongue-in-cheek short walks the audience through various countries' more restrictive gun laws, comparing them all the while to the lax restrictions in the US. Factual without being pedantic, it would make a good street performance piece.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Punkin Hayride Love

So wonderfully weird and full of theatrical possibility, this little love story hits all the disturbing notes. A whimsical reminder that love and lovers come in all sorts of disguises. To each his own! A perfect choice for any short festival looking for something a little different.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Reading Babar in 2070

How honest are you with your children? What do you choose to be honest about and why? It's not difficult to imagine our children's children being faced with such challenges in the future. A dark and sobering short play.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: SLEEPYHEAD: A 2-Minute Monologue Play

Who can't relate to that early morning internal dialogue of "Get UP!" This monologue is full of instant energy from the get-go, which makes it a fun piece to watch or perform. And I love Wyndham's embrace of whimsy.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Ethnically Ambiguous: A 10-Minute Play

A stylized semi-poem exploring the different ethic identities of four women. Each character represents a point of view, and voices her challenges with intersectionality. A lovely short play that reflects the times in which we live.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Two Cats Explain the Monstrous Moth Group

Thal's enchanting interpretation of cat logic and cat language truly captures the unique relationship between humans and cats. Somehow, Omi the Cat's explanation of the physical universe makes perfect sense. I'd love to spend more time with these felines or at least see this show produced. Cerebral but still accessible. A beautiful short play.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: The Tower (5 minute)

A curious interaction between a woman you will undoubtedly recognize and her employee serves as the vehicle for this play about the cost of getting what we want and the ways affluence and fame enslave us. "Mrs." is a particularly well drawn character.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Parking Lot Chains for Christ

I was intrigued by the play's title (Stubbles' has some fun ones!). A short tongue-in-check farce that relishes in skewering hypocrisy. Four good women's roles and a simple set.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Adoption of Grief

Resonating with many socio-racial issues of our time, this one-act zooms in on how interracial adoption, class, and liberal saviour-ism play out between two families. No easy answers, but a lot to mull over in this moral/ethical/legal puzzler. The post-show conversation will fill your ride home from the theater. Some very nice, dark, and tense moments, too. A real strength of Salsbury's.
