Set on a war-torn island during World War II, Lonely People follows a small group of survivors holding onto faith, love, and the thin hope of connection as everything familiar falls away. In a place shaped by absence and waiting, silence often carries more weight than speech. The play looks at how longing, grief, and brief moments of closeness become a way to endure when despair feels inescapable. It asks whether we reach for others to find meaning, or simply to reassure ourselves that we still exist.

At its heart, Lonely People is about isolation and the quiet damage of everyday life. It is about the awkward, sometimes painful ways people attempt to connect even when they lack the words or the courage to do so. The story unfolds through restrained moments, sudden truths, and heavy pauses, echoing how real conversations often circle what matters most without ever landing on it.
