Artistic Statement
I am a character-driven playwright who believes that dialogue is the heartbeat of any story. My work explores the tension between expectation and reality, often using humor, satire, and moments of existential frustration to highlight the absurdity of modern life. Whether it’s a fractured relationship, a missed opportunity, or a struggle against an indifferent world, my plays center on characters who are desperately trying to be understood.
Dialogue is my greatest tool—rhythmic, quick-witted, and deeply human. I love capturing the way people actually speak, with all the interruptions, half-finished thoughts, and unspoken meanings between the lines. My characters often find themselves in heightened, absurd situations, but their voices remain grounded in truth. The comedy in my work comes not from punchlines, but from the raw awkwardness, miscommunication, and emotional honesty that exist in everyday life.
At its core, my writing is about people—flawed, hopeful, and struggling to make sense of the world around them. Whether it’s a satirical look at modern theater, a technology-driven relationship breakdown, or an intimate moment of self-realization, my goal is always to craft compelling conversations that pull audiences in and let them see a bit of themselves on stage.
