  • Original and very down-to-earth (until it's not). A probing play (literally) about relationships with a touching conclusion.

  • An important contribution to the body of work that's figuring things out in the USA. But it's more than a simple diatribe - this is an engaging play in its own right. The Guide, in particular, is an effective character.

  • A refreshing take on a plot idea as old as Sartre's No Exit, but with an original twist that's surprising, yet totally justified. This would be a great piece for a 10-minute play contest - it even comes with its own timer.

  • An expertly-crafted play about our perceptions of those we love, and what we do when faced with (seemingly) incontrovertible evidence of their monstrosity. But it's more than just a simple morality tale - all four characters have complex, competing objectives, and you can never be sure who's telling the truth, or why.

  • Eric Goudie: Catfish Picnic: a short play for pride

As unapologetically rural as it is queer, this is a play about Jess and Tess, and how nothing in life and love is simple, not even chocolate chip cookies (no matter how delicious they may be). Like a good cookie, this play leaves you craving more.

  • Eric Goudie: OUTATIME

This is an excellent piece for two young actors in their early teens, still too young for many other coming-of-age stories. This play is sincere, well-crafted and, despite the premise, completely believable. In addition to the acting, there's some great opportunities to make lots of cool props and ingenious special effects. And of course, since it's rooted in a classic movie from the 80's, it works well for parents too.

  • Eric Goudie: Just Another Day

It's great to see a playwright break the rules and write a script with lots of stage directions - and get away with it. This is a piece that combines intricate storytelling (never easy when we only get to hear just one side of every conversation) in equal measure with what must certainly be, in performance, stunning visual metaphor from the stagehands. Refreshingly, unapologetically theatrical.

  • Eric Goudie: Goodnight, Prometheus!

A great little comedy for older actors, especially those who aren't afraid of pushing the envelope a bit. This would be hilarious in performance, and also very sweet.

  • Eric Goudie: Worst Table

A fun and rather heart-warming little rom-com that doesn't fall into well-worn cliches about two people who meet by chance somewhere there's food. I love that the waiter too is a character in their own right, not just a means to help the story along. Well done!
