  • Sibling Rivalries
    19 Jan. 2022
Scott’s play explores trust and friendship within a Black fraternity. Watching this story unfold, the journey of Dorian, Malik, and Brandon as adhere to the pressure of “black excellence,”
left me wondering how bad does each “ wants it” and at what costs -especially when ones peer is looking to outshine the other. A dark comedy that calls into question politics, ethics, jealousy and betrayal that will keep you guessing til the very end as fraternity brothers are all at war with one another and in their own way feel they’re not Black enough to stand their own ground

Kuperschmid’s play invites us into a world of friendship that transcends time and space while exploring how we communicate with our peers. It’s humor is a metaphor for comfort and a driving force of how we support each other regardless of our differences. It reminds me of the value in surrounding ourselves around loved ones who accept who we really are. A fun play that is timely and needed during these challenging times
  • American Fast
    12 Jan. 2022
Not only does AMERICAN FAST follow a strong female protagonist but it also asks you to believe in yourself. Regardless of her inner truths being exposed before her big day, Khady still looks it in the eye and says…” so what, I’m still gonna be the best.” Fahmy’s beautifully play deals with faith and perseverance and places a young woman on the biggest stage of her young life, and I cannot recommend this play enough.
  • For the Benefit of Jimmy Mangiaroli

The characters in the piece really invite you into their room. I imagined myself as a passenger on the ferry eavesdropping- not trying to get caught at first-and then halfway through just watching this story unfold. A very fun piece.

TRASH is a whirlwind of a play that immediately takes you into the world of a man and allows us to see who he really is with women when nobody else is around.
On the outside, he looks like any other person but in the inside, his thoughts aren’t as pure as one would hope. Throughout the play Mulley paints a picture and allows us to make our own decision of what portrait of him we see…
An interesting play about life, time and young love
  • Safe Word

I read SAFE WORD and it immediately brought me to a world of exploration the unknown. I followed Nelson’s every word and slowly began to see his transformation.
I’d love to see what happens next with him…
  • DEAD AND BREATHING
    26 Dec. 2021
One of my favorites by this talented writer…( arguably they all are though). Such a strong sense of what it means “ to care” for someone throughout the piece, you’re filled with a sense of diving into the last page and then hugging both characters for both similar and different reasons… and everyone’s ok with that.

    I highly recommend this play
  • Out of Body/On a Train
    26 Dec. 2021
With so much going on in the world at any given moment, this piece thrusts you in the mind of a victim and/or survivor of something that is extremely horrifying, yet tackles a fine line of who’s telling who the truth when trying to process trauma

A wonderful and timely piece of drama that captures the current state of tension and turmoil on foreign land while asking us questions about how we feel towards those we have lost on our own soil. A play about family values and the importance of life, what choices will we make when the date of others may be in our hands. Keep up the good work Darcy
