Clocking the grandma at the wedding, how could that be a problem? A hilarious piece about the struggle to restrain oneself when you're dealing with homophobic relatives. Well done!

What a tender play! In these two women, Mr. Bavoso, perfectly dramatizes the generational struggle too many LGBT persons face when living their 'true selves' among family. The play has moments of great humor and others of profound heart. The characters are open, blunt, and genuine as they slowly (and almost unknowingly) choose each other over everyone else on the planet. This is a magnificent piece for two strong females and for any socially conscious theater hoping to expand understanding of an oft-marginalized community. LOVED IT!!

Funny, pithy, and poignant. Excellent exploration of the many levels of damage homophobia can do. And it does not go where you think it will.

I was lucky enough to see a reading of this incredibly funny (and sincere!) play and enjoyed it tremendously. Bavoso skillfully explores homophobia (and biphobia within the queer community) with the cadence of a screwball comedy. Even when I thought I knew where the scene was headed next, Bavoso proved me wrong, catching my assumptions off-guard in the best ways!

And, hey, two GREAT roles for women here!
