    “ Stiletto Envy is a somewhat humorous, somewhat telling story that through its descriptive actions and dialogue accomplishes the creation of a short but meaningful scene. The Play establishes relevance in a time when the wide variety of gender identities is becoming more accepted and recognized by the broad community. However, as we see in a character like Melanie, not all people, and perhaps especially heterosexuals, understand the terms with which non gender conforming people identify with. As a result of Shaun’s actions, we learn that assuming things based off of identity isn't always the right thing to do. ”

I particularly enjoyed how Pipes dealt with a character's biases about another LBGT character, treating it as a flaw that doesn't make the character an evil stereotype but rather a person that is acting emotionally due to the world around them. Pipes deals with a heavy subject which, in the hands of another playwright, would reduce the human element of it. Wonderful ”
