This play gives me a lycanthropic Tennessee Williams meets an alternate dimension Degrassi The Next Generation through a queer POC John Waters storm cloud vibe. There is something bluntly satiric, painfully awkward, and brutally emphatic about all the teens in this piece that it made my heart howl with recognition. Loved this to the moon and back!

Hayden-Brice Walker has created another high energy, crazy, funny play that you cannot stop reading. But the best part is the authentic humanity and the universal desires of the characters. Read. Produce.

I love this play—the characters, language, theatricality, structure, even the font. There’s so much danger just beneath the surface—and the supernatural is just the tip of the iceberg. Walker has a way of dramatizing the pushing of sexual boundaries and toying with emotions that feels both true to teenage life and campily heightened at the same time. This whole fuckin’ play is a big mood—sexy, scary, sinister, silly, and smart. Read and produce this play right now, please! (P.S.: “A single Pomeranian barking” is the best stage direction ever.)

Ok, so WOLFCRUSH is great. If I was programming a season, this would absolutely go on my roster. The humor and aesthetic is so specific and cuddles aggressively next to the brutal pain of longing and connection so many queer people feel at our centers. Highly recommend.

Wow! Haygen-Brice's work is so amazingly trashy and fun I can't even deal with it. This play is like watching a scary movie on acid! The language is crisp and fun and I love how everything feels chill and like real-life until suddenly it doesn't and things become terrifying. Highly theatrical and extremely baller!
