This play is fast-paced, fun, smart, and goofily sexy (if that's a thing). It's a fun commentary on what it takes to keep older works fresh, how sex sells, and just how far directors should go to interpret works. This play also gives some great peeks into the rehearsal process. I also love that there are characters who are just casually gay. They're very lived in.

Pflaster’s “The Underpants Godot” is a hilarious parody piece that chronicles a sexualized production of Beckett’s magnum opus “Waiting for Godot.” Although it is implied that the play is about Beckett’s famous work, Pflaster has written it in such a way that one does not need knowledge of the work to enjoy this piece. I’d love to see this staged, it’s sure to be a fun experience for actor and audience alike!

This is a smart, fun, and provocative show, which both deeply honors and hilariously spoofs Beckett. It's also a wickedly blunt love letter to the theater and to comedy in general, telling some hard truths that you may not hear anywhere else. I've seen this show more than once and would see it again. It's had quite a few productions and deserves many more.

A delight for anyone who’s seen a million Shakespeares and is perpetually chasing that sweet spot between honoring the classic expectations and delving into new revelations… or, failing that, anyone who derives intense joy from an argument, whether one’s invoking the biggest, weightiest themes or the smallest technicalities. I admit that the title and the (seeming) gimmick is what got me to look into this piece, but it’s the ideas that kept me reading.

One of the funniest plays I've seen in years, and also surprisingly moving. The Underpants Godot is a love letter to theatre and the people who make it, but prior knowledge of Beckett's work is in no way prerequisite. More than a mere 'nothing's sacred' spoof, it's a clarion - or kazoo in a pinch - sounded to bring down the walls we build around our most precious cultural treasures. Hilarious, irreverent, and yes, sexy.

Witty, hilarious and poignant - I loved reading this play. I think it's a perfect play for any theatre to include in their season - cannot recommend more highly!

What's amazing about Duncan's prolific talent is the way he's able to speak so eloquently to multiple themes via the words of three-dimensional characters. THE UNDERPANTS GODOT is a great example of this. Here, we have characters, actors in a controversial production of WAITING FOR GODOT, who we care deeply for. We empathize with them. But we're also invested in the story: one that stands up for theatre and its many interpretations, and the many people who have a right to interpret. This is a wonderful play, and an outstanding play about plays!
