This premise is so absolutely ridiculous and yet so poignant. It's a classic who's-the-real-monster with a delightful Kafkaesque twist (and very self aware of it). I want so desperately to see this on a stage. Pynn has really made something just ridiculously funny, disgusting, and touching.

It begins with a couple trying to get rid of a cockroach and then goes places you'd never expect. This play, which could've been just a silly take off on The Metamorphosis, is instead, at turns, smart, funny, sweet, and sad. The writing is full of wit, imagination, and empathy, and very much worth the read.

What a fun, wonderful surprise this play was. I, COCKROACH is romantic and sweet and horrifying and smart. I love the riffs on Kafka. On the surface, this is a fun romp, but it also honors the sanctity of life in an utterly original way. Totally loved it.

A funny, sad, comedy about a bad relationship and an empathetic cockroach. It's great.

Amazing and funny and wonderful and heartfelt all at the same time. Will change the way you look at and think about cockroaches, and even have you rooting for them romantically over creepy jerk husbands. As I read this, my jaw dropped open with delight and never closed. So good, it made me envious that I didn't write it. Certain to be a crowd pleaser.
