Short & twisted - Like a stiletto to the funny bone.

John Minigan knows film noir, then takes it in a new direction that's fun and entertaining. His love interest, Vera, is a Mormon. He also spoofs on therapists and mild mannered men who could be superman but want to get married. Very enjoyable.

Hilarious premise, hilarious characters, hilarious dialogue, hilarious play. As a fan of film noir, I love every single moment, and marvel at how perfectly Minigan captures and honors the form, and still makes it, well, hilarious.

Now this is entertainment.
I was hooked from beginning to end and pleasantly surprised.
This may be the best noir short play I've read. Definitely one of my favorite short comedies on NPX.

"The Maltese Walter" is a blast to read and would be a true delight to see performed - it's no wonder it's been produced so often. This play is both familiar and original, funny and surprising.

A clever parody of the noir genre with stylized comedy and an unexpected twist.

A very comical take on noir themes, about a meek accountant whose unexpected lapsing into his "super-hero" mode leads to a saxophone playing in the background and sudden terse and tough dialogue. Great job by the wonderful writer John Minigan.
