This play pro-pulses with the immediacy and rhythm of poetry. It arises from the ashes of the most personal kind of trauma. It is painful and beautiful, but ultimately full of love and hope. I would love to see this produced.

Emma Goldman-Sherman holds nothing back in “FUKT,” a play that builds in tension and complexity as the piece progresses. These characters were constructed with utmost care, and Goldman-Sherman clearly articulates the necessity for the subject matter, which is bolstered by her incorporation of dark comedy. Brave, poignant and important, “FUKT” is a play that deserves the spotlight.

I love the humor that opens the play. I relaxed immediately into the story. It is so much fun listening to a woman arguing with herself. And then we fall into the pain and I want to listen. The opening prepared me to listen. And I listened to every word. Fukt is brave, necessary, and needed.

A play that proves sometimes the simplest forms tell the most complex stories. A cast of three, representing three facets of one person, told with verve and poignancy. Moving from funny to harrowing with ease, this is a masterful work.

FUKT is a wonderful exploration of the painful subject of the way in which people split off because of childhood abuse. I say wonderful, because Goldman-Sherman has added dark humor to the story and a sense of how three people are and are not one person at the same time. Another example of how #metoo has liberated women to write their truths without varnish or compromise, for which I am grateful. These stories make all of us who have experienced these traumas feel less alone, and shine a light into this world for those who have not.

FUKT is a miracle of a work of art. Harrowing, hilarious, immediate, and--essential for a play about memories--unforgettable. Its three actors embody the struggle from trauma to identity, raising questions of whether we can and should forgive and of how and when we can become whole, all while showing the power we can claim to name what has happened, what can happen, and who we are. A stunning work. There is something wrong with the American theater that this play has not been produced everywhere.

Intensely brutal. Viciously honest. This play should be done everywhere. Why it isn't winning awards all over the place is beyond me. Characters you cannot forget, a story that will stay with you.

An absolutely extraordinary piece. Impeccably paced and structured, while somehow feeling organic and free flowing all at the same time. Has the kind of soul bearing storytelling quality of a perfect solo show, but obviously it is something else entirely. The most vivid and powerfully depicted example of the effects of trauma on an individual that I've read in a long time or quite possibly ever. Wrenching but far from "excessive"--every detail shared is carefully chosen and profoundly articulated.

One of those pieces of theatre that feel more like a ritual than a play. Theatre that feels like a primal scream from any woman that has something they need to tell. This play needs to be produced and experienced and used to inspire voices to be used and stories to be shared.
