An honest and nuanced look at what it's like to be a queer teenager, on the cusp of adulthood and on the cusp of finding yourself. Not your average coming out play.

Tony and Gabe's relationship is amazing constructed. You can tell they are so close, yet have so much unsaid to each other in such little time. The humor is very funny, but doesn't distract from the uncertainty, longing, and anxiety underneath.

What better setting than waiting outside your house for the 4th July fireworks, for this beautiful two hander Michael has treated us to. Tony and Gabe's conversation is natural yet strained and you can't help feel for them both as they look into the next step in their young lives. A lovely short play.

I saw the play at the Samuel French OOB this past week and found great poignancy in its gentle, moving depiction of two young men on the cusp of the rest of their lives. I also appreciated the way Michael Pisaturo crafted the play's final moment, leaving lots of space for the audience to breathe in and meditate on the future of these two characters. Sensitive and touching!

It's hard to read a play when every word chips away at your heart a little more. Of course, when a play is busy doing that, it's impossible to stop.

This elegant short captures a multitude of turning points: the end of high school and the beginning of everything else; the last chance to say the thing you need to say and the genesis of the new world springing forth once those words irrevocably hit the air; the friendship as steadfast as it is ever changing.

By the end, it's sculpted you a brand new heart.

This is one of the most honest depictions of two people coming to terms with their feelings for each other that I've read in a very long time. It touches you because of the plain-spoken and realistic reactions by both Tony and Gabe, and the story is one of those moments that does not require elaboration or explanation. It just is, which is what makes it so good.
