There is so much to like about this piece: the emotional impact of each member of a family, the interconnection of life’s choices, and the self awareness of what it all means. This is truly one of the best short plays I have read. Bravo!

It is clear to see why "FAMILY BY NUMBERS”, Arianna Rose’s beautifully written play about families has won multiple awards. It is not only a compelling drama that captures us from the start and holds us until the final blackout, it is also a cleverly devised play using a “numbering device” that drives its important message straight home. It is most impressive what Ms. Rose can make us feel in just ten minutes.

Family dynamics written to the bone. Spare yet full - encompassing the range of feelings we have at any one time as time moves on. Beautifully done.

What a rich and moving exploration of family dynamics. It's hard to believe that such complex feelings and complex relationships can be plumbed so thoroughly in only 10 pages.

FAMILY BY NUMBERS is a cleverly-wrought spoken motet—a rhythmic and melodic fugue for solo and entwined voices that explores a remarkable array of life’s eternal issues in just a few short minutes: love (romantic, parental, familial), sibling rivalry, regret, grief, and memory. A lovely, poetic, and indelible piece.

Arianna Rose tells a moving and heartbreaking story with originality and theatricality. Lyrical and haunting, "Family by Numbers" will stay with me for a long time.
