Recommendations of Goddess Of The Hunt

  • Philip Middleton Williams: Goddess Of The Hunt

This fun play is a mix of "Dangerous Liaisons," an episode of "Law & Order," and an Alfred Hitchcock suspense thriller all masterfully put together to keep you guessing all the way through. It would be so much fun to see this on the stage and watch every twist -- and twisted -- turn. It's hard to say which part I liked the best: the dialogue, the characters, or the inventive setting and design, so I just have to say I loved it all.

  • Maximillian Gill: Goddess Of The Hunt

Deliciously dark and unnervingly witty, DeVita’s comic romp takes place in a milieu familiar to anyone who’s spent some time in certain social circles of the east coast, yet what the author does with this setting and with these characters is constantly surprising. You will not likely guess where it’s going, but you will be happy to come along for the ride. The dialogue is consistently sharp and hilarious, contemporary but with the breezy comic touch of old school comedy. It's been a while since I laughed out loud this much just reading a play!

Goddess of the Hunt manages to surprise, entertain, and draw you into the lives of it's delightfully murder-y cast through the use of its endlessly witty dialogue and fun revelations. It's sure fire delight by my accounts.

Doug's sharp dialogue makes this witty thriller a joy to read. Some company is sure to snap it up soon.

  • Nick Malakhow: Goddess Of The Hunt

This is a funny, witty, and salacious satirical mystery! I appreciate the "queering" of this genre, which makes the story and characters feel fresh and intriguing. The scenes move at a brisk pace, and I found DeVita's dialogue to strike a great balance between hilarity and plot-driving exchanges. The characters, particular the dynamic duo of Diana and Percy, are dynamic and complex. I look forward to seeing this piece's continued journey--it seems as if it would be a blast on its feet.

Once again, DeVita stuns me with his well-developed, dynamic characters, plot structure, and flows-like-butter dialogue. A perfect amount of comedy to accompany a story that’ll keep you interested until the end. A play that actors and directors alike would have a blast doing.

  • Marjorie Bicknell: Goddess Of The Hunt

Interesting characters, a twisty plot, and lots of laughs! "Goddess of the Hunt" is an inventive as it gets. Cool Facebook check-ins both set the scene and further the action. Witty dialogue is reminiscent of great comedy caper films like "Charade" or "Arabesque" and screwball comedies like "Palm Beach Weekend". The characters are deftly drawn and would be great fun to play. A wonderful read! I can't wait to see what happens next with this play!
