This is a terrific short piece! Great characters, strong dialogue and a nice little story to tell with vast implications beyond what we see. Arianna Rose solves the problem of flight and the challenge of historical characters in a modern place with ease and naturalness. This would be a nice piece to see on stage! (10/5/2024)

I fell in love with this brilliant short play from the jump. This is how history should be told: Make it live, give it complexity and humor, knit it to now. Rose brings her penchant for warmth and empathy - and character chutzpah - to every word. This would be a gem in any festival.

What a lovely 10 minute play! This is the joy ride most women would love to be an actual fly on the wall for... or on the plane in this case. What a wonderful ride. What a wonderful short play by ARIANNA ROSE.

Ten minutes of flight, humor, and transcendance. Do the moments take place in real time . . . or in the afterlife? Certainly, things to be pondered by readers and the audience. "Joy Ride" is yet another example of Arianna Rose' all-embracing talent. Nicely done!

So well written that I felt I was in the back seat during the joy ride enjoying the view. Short and sweet.

Arianna Rose has written a deliciously imaginative flight of fancy involving two iconic women, who support each other and, without apology, tried to change the world's perceptions of what a woman was capable of accomplishing. The dialogue is fresh and funny, and one could certainly believe that the events described in the play could have happened, as both Amelia and Eleanor were very determined women. This is a wonderful play that deserves to be seen.

A beautiful tribute to two women who changed history and continue to inspire generations. JOY RIDE mixes historical accuracy with the fanciful, taking the audience on a beautiful journey through time and possibilities. Rose's exceptional writing carries us to the skies - "I wish every woman could experience this."

What a wonderful tribute to two legendary women. Part history, part fantasy, and completely enjoyable! Just as Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt soared through the skies over Washington, DC, Arianna Rose’s writing takes flight. Everyone should come along for the ride!

A few particular lines in this play really stuck out to me. Amelia tells the audience "You’re fixated on that day I disappeared over the Pacific. One day! I prefer to focus on my 14,578 days before that." And that's so true. We are more than just one moment. And as Arianna Rose shows us, even in death, Amelia (and Eleanor) prefer to go on living and having new experiences. A moment can define us, but we don't have to stop looking for other moments. I REALLY liked this play.

I love Arianna Rose's plays and was lucky to see this one performed recently. It's a fantastic two-hander for two women that imagines the friendship between Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt with wonderful theatricality and surprises along the way. The play involves flying and somehow Rose manages to make us feel as if we are flying too, merely by the sheer skill of her writing. JOY RIDE is truly a joy.
